Owen Hart was born on May 7, 1965 in Calgary, Alberta, into the legendary Hart wrestling family. The youngest son of Stu Hart, Owen was always destined to enter the squared circle; though Owen was different. He wasn’t a wrestling lifer. Sure he wanted a career in wrestling, but his family was the most important thing to him. He had plans to leave the wrestling world behind by age 40 and enjoy his life with his wife Martha, and children Oje and Athena.
Sadly, Owen never realized his dream.
On May 23rd, 1999 at the Over the Edge pay-per-view inside the Kemper Arena in Kansas City Owen Hart lost his life. In what was presumed to be just a tragic accident two decades later, we now know the real reason why Owen Hart isn’t with us today.
