Same Old Lions, “In the Hunt” | Football With a Lions Fan

We’ve now approached the most wonderful time of the year. No not Christmas or any of those other holidays. I’m talking about the crucial part of the NFL Season where the playoffs are on the horizon. For us Lions fans, that can only mean one thing.

In the Hunt season.

What’s in the Hunt season you ask? The playoffs start to take shape in November for both the NFC and AFC, from divisional races to wild card spots, but November football for the organization we know and love, and the most crucial portion of our schedule is known as “In the Hunt Season”.

In the Hunt season begins around week 10 or whenever Fox throws the graphic up nowadays. Its the time of the year when the Lions flirt endlessly with the thought of making the NFL playoffs. They come out and play hard, string together a bunch of wins, and just when your hopes are high enough, they snatch everything away, and fold under pressure.

You see, they wanna go, but they don’t know how to get there. They’re going to do whatever they can to lose winnable games. They’ll lose to teams they’re supposed to beat, and they’ll fall just short after giving it the old college try. It doesn’t end until one of two things: the Detroit Lions completely s**t the bed and get eliminated from playoff contention in embarrassing fashion, or the Lions s**t the bed and some other team also loses, so the lions can sneak into the playoffs and lose in embarrassing fashion.
Either way, their gonna lose in embarrassing fashion. Do not let them drag you back in.

This game was the perfect opportunity for the Lions to give away a winnable game, so they can do what needs to be done and Fire Matt Patricia.
